A favourite trail in Hi Knoll Park, Langley, BC

I wish it weren’t necessary to bring you this message, but I know Norma wouldn’t have wanted to leave her cyber friends in limbo, wondering why she was no longer posting here. She would have said a personal goodbye if she could, and told you all how much she valued your friendship, and appreciated your many visits and encouraging comments.

But Norma left us last Thursday morning after a fall from which she never regained consciousness.

Our hearts ache with the loss, but also rejoice for her. Her faith has taken her beyond the bend in the trail and into the glorious light of eternity with her Lord. – C.G.

  1. Carol; I heard from Ra about the untimely passing of our mutual friend. Her memories will be missed, but thankfully we all have a ton of memories of this wonderful lady who shared her life stories with us.

  2. Oh, Carol. … There are no words. But she has received her reward. I’ll bet there was a welcoming committee at the pearly gates and a party of rejoicing just beyond. I was enriched by her posting here. Thank you for sharing. She was a very special lady. Sending a hug and prayers to you and the rest of her family. You are all very special people. Grace, peace, and God’s comfort. Judith in Kansas.

  3. Thank you so much Carol..
Norma is in a better place.
Donna and I will miss her great memories and art.
    Our deepest condolences..

  4. Thank for letting us know. It was thru her wonderful posts that brought back some fantastic memories of living on Muirfield Drive. I remember lots of enjoyable times with the family and remember babysitting the boys. I still have a picture that they did for me when I got married and cherish it. Please let us know if there is going to be a memorial and pass on my condolences to the family.

  5. An extraordinary person with a unique history and many talents. I came to know her through her postings and am saddened. My condolences to her family.

  6. RIP Auntie Norma, You have been my Auntie in law for 48 years. You were a wonderful lady and inspiration to us all!! I still love the poppy picture, the first one you painted.

  7. A beautiful final posting for us, Carol. Your words bring a measure of comfort and the photo you’ve posted is so very lovely. Thank you. I hope to see you Sunday.

  8. MEMORIAL SERVICE INFORMATION:

The service will be in Evergreen’s Chapel and the reception will be in the Manor Lounge – which is right across the hall from the chapel.

    Sunday January 25th
    Service: 2:30PM
    Reception: to follow

    1501 Everall Street
    White Rock

There is (very) limited parking down behind the Everall building. The entrance to the lot is to the left (south side) if you’re on Everall Street facing the entrance. Some of the parking spots say “reserved”, but they’re only actually reserved if they have a suite number on the sign. If they don’t, you can park there.

To reach the chapel from that parking lot you’ll need to walk back out to the front of the building – keep going past the entrance and then turn left down the hill. Otherwise, if you’re walking in from the street, just go down the driveway to the right (north side). The door to the chapel is a bit obscure, but we’ll have someone at that door to let you in.

In lieu of flowers please instead make a donation to your favourite charity with Norma in mind. If you don’t have a favourite charity please consider KIVA (www.kiva.com).

  9. So sorry to hear about Norma passing. My own father passed away on March 7th – two of my favourite people (Vogler’s) are gone now. I send my heart and love to the family.
